Gianni Bini & Fluvio Perniola started their music career in the mid 80’s as DJ’s playing in various clubs throughout Italy.

In 1990, the team began their involvement in ambient music productions where they quickly gained great knowledge in this specific type of work. This experience permitted them to mature, and soon after, they expanded to build their own recording studio. Fathers of Sound Recording Studio started releasing productions and remixes under the trademark FOS.

Their aim was to create a sound that was different to that of was happening at that particular time in the clubs. Their first production entitled "Revelation" was intended for the House music scene but at the same time they were searching to develop it further. They continued to collaborate with other Italian DJ’s in a series of record productions that were released on the label UMM which was created for this occasion with a different trademark. This enabled them to come into contact with other reputable studios in England such as "Z–Records ( label for Joey Negro), FFRR, MCA and finally EMI, Arista, AM PM who passed on this type of work to them, and with their remixer contributions certainly increased the Father of Sound popularity. In the same time period FOS gained further experience with other Producers and DJ’s such as Sasha, Dave Picciono ( Azuli Records ), BT, John Digweed and many others.

As DJ’s they perform exclusively in England with Renaissance. Playing for Renaissance provided them to perform at clubs such as Ministry of Sound, The Tunnel, The Cross, Back to Basic, Wobbly, Shinding and many many others. Also, in the summer period, the travel to Ibiza as resident DJ’s for the so famous club Pacha and of course as perform as guest DJ’s at other venues on the island.

In Italy, their names are tied to clubs such as Insomnia di Pisa, Cicala, Fitzgeraldo, Muretta e Matilda, Fellini, Illiria and finally at the Sound of Code di Mestre where they are resident DJ’s every Saturday night.

Fathers of Sound plan to tour the US following the release of their new hit single "Water" coming out on ICU Records in June ‘98.
