"Deep Love"

Island Groove - Italy
In 1994, Stefano Baldetti and Luigi Corotenuto (artist name Louis K) formed the Italian group Island Groove. Their first production was "Music" which was immediately released on Subway Records. Later on this year they met up with Joe T. Vannelli, one of Italy’s most established producer and DJ to whom they proposed the track "Sleepin' Time is Over" which was shortly after released and received overwhelming response throughout the world. Following this, Island Groove moved their studio to Milan and it was here that they created the single "Louis K (EP One)" which was also licensed, among other major labels, to Polygram in Germany.

In 1996, they received their first award at the Grand Gallery of Publicity (30 gold seconds) for creating a TV and radio track for a Renault commercial. From this television and radio ad, their work in this field continued to expand and later on included works for companies such as Walt Disney and many others.

Island Groove's other remixes include: Deep Dish "Love Song"; J.T. Company "Feel It In The Air"; Constance "Nervous Breakdown"; Dirotto su Cuba "Jesahel"; Corona "The Power of Love"; soundtrack for the film "L'esercito delle 12 Scimmie" by Astor Piazzolla and the latest being the soundtrack for the spot Invicta entitled "Forest for the Trees".

In 1997, Island Groove produced their fourth single track entitled "Let Me Taste" which also acclaimed worldwide achievement. Continued success is highly likely with their latest release, "Deep Love" which features US house producer Keith Thompson.

Keith Thompson - US
Keith Thompson's newest release, "Deep Love" is a collaboration with the Island Groove production duo which features Thompson. Four distinct mixes show off the range of his vocals from caressingly smokey to powerfully yearning. "Deep Love" is a great celebration of a heart surrendering its love," say Keith. "Lyrically, it's saying a lot of what people are afraid to say and usually don't."

Thompson's previous release with co-producer Darrell Ellerbe was the much talked about "Messin' With My Mind" by the Thompson Project featuring Gary L. on Soulfuric Records. Remixes by Jazz- N-Groove and UBP. Thompson is currently completing production on the follow-up single, and a new group concept called Warrior Charge with a first single, "Still Find Time" from a 3 song EP produced by da G@P. Look for the Thompson Project performances this season with Dj Ellerbe mixing underground vinyl and Thompson on keys together playing as the Dj crew, Darr & Killa.

After his debut release, "Everywhere I Go" in 1986 on his first label, Flat Records, Keith joined the concept group, Raze, lending sultry vocals to "Caught You Cheating"(Groove St.,'87) and the historic erotic anthem, "Break 4 Love" (Columbia '88)which was number 1 internationally. This was soon followed by his solo effort, "Love Is Not A Toy"(Hit-N-Run '88) which became an early underground classic. His next offering came after being signed to Capitol US, in the form of the ground breaking "Can't Take It" ('89) and was featured on the now classic Black Havana album. Later released as a single on Capitol, it is likely the first ragga/house fusion, which he referred to as "ragamuffin-house". The single rose to number 1 on DMA charts in Italy, 6 in Sweden, and top 40 on the US billboard dance charts.

In 1991 Keith was signed by the parent company EMI Records and began working on his debut album, which due to staff shake ups within the company, was never released. Despite this setback, the material intended for the album was later released on his own label, Level 10 MusicWorks. The first single, "Believe" (distributed by Emotive '92) was produced by Justin Strauss with keys by Eric Kupper. Then came the gem, "Rhythm Of Life" ('93). Released as the Keith Thompson Project, it boasted a production cast of such luminaries as Little Louie Vega & Kenny Dope Gonzales in their first outing as Masters At Work, Todd Terry, Larry Rausen, Debbie Cole, Connie Harvey, India, and Tony Humphries with Tuta Aquino as producers. Instantly massive on acetate and DAT, the song created a storm of interest in underground clubs worldwide for a year prior to its release. unfortunately, it only reached the top 30 on most charts due to its late release. By the summer of '94, Thompson was back in the limelight again through the UK no. 1 dance chart success of the remixes "Break 4 Love" (Champion UK). He relocated to London and began collaborating with producer Marshall Jefferson among others. They produced "Far Behind" (Hott '94) under the moniker Idle & Wild. The pair also released "Catch A Groove" (4 Liberty '95) an EP under the name Marshall's Party featuring Killa T. While performing live ad libs on Paul 'Trouble' Anderson's Kiss FM radio show, he was honored with that name, and there began the transformation. From Keith to the current Killa Thompson moniker.

Killa released "Che Life" (4 Liberty '95) under the production name Afrikan Opera. His collaboration with Joe T. Vannelli created "Don't Hold Back" (Dream Beat '95) and with the North Side Production they produced "Not Enough Loving" (4 Liberty '96) an unappreciated future classic that is being considered for re-issue. From '96 through '97, he took a break from performing and much producing to take classes in computer programming, and website designing. As he says, " I got myself a life outside of music, restructured my priorities and my business. I've become the person I wanted to be, so I can be the artist I need to be." Thompson set up a professional quality studio at home, "Thanks to modern technology," he says. Now rejuvenated, he is launching his new productions with style and drive as if the new century is already here.

"Deep Love" by Island Groove featuring Keith Thompson is a very groovy deep house track including four mixes ……..once again make an impact in house music history.
